We had another wonderful wedding high atop Mount Magazine. We tied the knot for Anthony and Debbie yesterday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. I did however, have to look past the idea that Anthony is a Alabama fan. LOL. Three more booked weddings at present for this year and then off we go again in 2012. Thanks to all our Brides and Grooms in 2011. Your the best. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to each of you. The Importance of a Professional Wedding Officiant by Terry Perez Brides and grooms often overlook the importance of the person actually conducting their wedding ceremony. They place great care in a place, date, and time, but do not consider that the ceremony will not go forward without an officiant. The person you choose to conduct your ceremony is the person you are counting on to share your vision, personalize your vows, and finalize your special day. This industry often goes unchecked because a lot of officiants are ministers and Justices of the Peace, which people simply assume are always professionals. The truth is, while the vast majority are, some can have questionable reputations in the industry just like any other business. The stories of showing up late or not at all, answering cell phones during the ceremony, refusing to customize your ceremony and vows, getting your names wrong, or countless other mistakes are endless and an absolute nightmare for any bride and groom. Before you book your officiant, know what to ask and what to expect for your money. Officiant fees can vary between $150.00 to $450.00 so make certain you know what you are getting. A higher price does not always mean a better officiant so be prepared when you interview them. Once you have established a date, time and place for your wedding, it's time to look for a wedding officiant. Start looking early as the best officiants, like the best vendors, tend to get booked quickly. See how much "control" your officiant allows you over your ceremony. Does your officiant insist on a religious ceremony? Are you getting a "fixed text" wedding -- that is, a "word for word" style ceremony that is read for every couple? How much choice are you given in putting together your ceremony? Will your officiant help with advice in writing your own vows? In giving you suggestions for readings and ceremony ideas? An officiant should have no problem giving you references. If they do, don't walk...run away! An officiant should always return your calls, answer your e-mails, and be available to you for all your needs. They should also be at your ceremony early to go over things and make sure there are no problems. Your payment is probably non-refundable so make certain you get your questions answered and feel comfortable that your officiant shares your dream of the perfect ceremony. Finally, did you know you can get married at the airport, in a park, your favorite restaurant, in a skating rink, the top floor of a building that overlooks the city, or anywhere else you desire? Well you can. So consider what your day means to you and follow your dream!

I know you hear me say this all the time..... "Don't wait until the last minute to book your officiant." If you do you may not get the one you want or one at all. We are being booked sometimes one year in advance. That makes great sense if you really want a certain officiant. All the venues, cakes, food, and wedding planners are great... unless you do not have an officiant. If you cannot find an officiant then all that comes to a sudden stop! Book with whomever you want... but by all means.... book early. You heard it right here. Morgan

Happy new week everyone. Those brides and grooms just keep on coming. We are in the process of booking three more weddings. Meeting with a couple this evening then a bride on Friday. Remember brides...... no matter who you decide to use for your wedding officiant book them early. One of the most common mistakes is waiting to book the officiant last. All the planning in the world will go right down the tubes if all the officiants are already booked for your date. Or you might have to settle for less than what you had hoped for. Just something to keep in mind. Never settle ... book early. Have a great day and week. Morgan

If you only remember one thing I share with you about weddings..... remember this. The wedding day is ALL about the bride and groom. So as the bride and groom .... do what you want to do. There will be some very well meaning people and some not so well meaning people who will let you know just how everything needs to be and how it should be done. This is your day. If you do not want something done.... then don't do it. Don't like that song or reading.... then throw it out. Hopefully, this will be the only wedding day you have so do what you want. It is for that reason we tailor make every wedding ceremony just the way the bride and groom want it. Nothing more.... nothing less. Then we put it all together so the flow is wonderful. Just the way you have always dreamed of. Wedding tradition for the most part has been thrown out the window. Weddings are now more a reflection of just who the bride and groom really are. A more user friendly atmosphere if you will. Don't settle for some canned ceremony that in no way shows who are what you are. Let us tailor make your wedding ceremony to reflect without a doubt what your all about. Why settle for the rest when you can have the best. Give us a call today and book your date. I promise...... it will be a "Lasting Impression." Morgan

It is always good to meet new Brides and their Grooms. Weddings can be so stressful on them both. We try to take that stress away from the bride and groom by handling the ceremony from start to finish. If we do say so ourselves.... we are the BEST in the business. If you have questions are comments about anything WEDDING. Let's hear from you right here on our blog. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Morgan
